Considering the need of the research and therapeutic approach of yoga in modern society, SVYASA the university has designed M.Sc. (Yoga) course in distance mode as well to take this knowledge to every doorstep.
In addition to the overall personality development, this course enables the learner to be equipped with therapeutic skills and research base in yoga. This course includes the ancient wisdom of the Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, Patanjali Yoga Sutra, Hatha Yoga and Gheranda Samhita along with modern scientific-based anatomy, physiology, psychology, research methodology, and teaching skills.
- After completion of M.Sc. student have carrier opportunity has an assistant professor in yoga institute (private, state government, central government)
- Junior research fellow in a research institute, yoga therapist in multi-specialty hospitals, Ayurveda hospitals, naturopathy centers, and SPA.
- Has a yoga wellness instructor in various central government sectors such as Ministry of culture and tourism
- As a yoga therapist in the district wellness center, they can also have there own yoga center or yoga institute
- There will be TWO intakes in each calendar year — January and July. Registration for the course can be done throughout the year and batch is decided on basis of date of registration.
- The minimum duration of the course is TWO years and the maximum duration will be FOUR years
- The candidate should have graduation in any discipline with a minimum of 45% marks.
- The candidate should have completed Yoga Instructor’s Course from S-VYASA or VYASA.
The medium of instruction and examination (theory, practical, internal, & viva-voce) shall be in English.
Personal contact programs (PCPs), Arogyadhama posting (clinical training), and research work are mandatory part of the course.
Five PCPs are to be attended during this whole course. PCP is generally conducted between 8th January to 8th February, and 8th July to 8th August. Every PCP is for 7 days (fifth PCP may be longer). Refer to the Table below.

Specific Instruction for the Students during they stay on the campus
It is mandatory to stay in the campus during PCP and exams.
Arogyadhama posting is for 16 days and is preferred in the months of May and June, though it is available throughout the year. Further detail regarding this will be communicated through email. Details regarding research work can be obtained after meeting research co-ordinator in person once 2nd PCP is completed. PCP, Arogyadhama training and Research are mandatory parts of course and no discussion will be entertained for exemption in any of these.
No leave is permissible during Personal Contact Program and Arogyadhama training. If any candidate is found absent in any of the sessions, full PCP program will have to be repeated.
Yoga Instructor’s Course (YIC) is a pre-requisite for M.Sc. course. Students must complete YIC before 1st PCP. However, if students already have some exposure to Yoga (through courses elsewhere) then they can apply for YIC (regular or distance mode) along with the M.Sc. course, and complete it before appearing for 1st-semester exams (2nd PCP).

Bachelor degree certificate & Mark-sheets (if any)
Masters degree certificate (if any)
Yoga Instructors Course (YIC) Certificate from S-VYASA/VYASA (if YIC is completed)
OR Certificate of yoga course attended elsewhere and a copy of the receipt of fee payment for the YIC course (if the student is joining YIC along with M.Sc.)
Aadhaar Card/Voter Card/Pan Card/Driving Licence (Indian nationals)
Passport and Visa (Non-Indians)
Caste Certificate (in case of SC/ST)
Physical handicapped medical certificate (if applicable)

The name on your application form should be as you would want it printed on your degree certificate. If this is different (due to, say, a name change after marriage) from your name on your earlier certificates and documents that you are submitting to us, then you need to submit an affidavit for the same.
Note to foreign students – if your certificates are in a language other than English, please send a translation of the same in English.

July intake: Application should be filled out and payment should be made by June 15
Applications reaching us after the said dates till the 1st of January/July will attract a late fee which has to be paid along with the course fee.
No application will be accepted after 1st of January/July. No spot admissions will be entertained on 7th and 8th. Any applications made after the 1st can only be considered for the next intake.
What happens next?
1. The student will receive an email from our end within 48hrs, after submission of the application properly.
2. Your application will be either shortlisted or rejected.
3. If your application is shortlisted, a confirmation email will be sent to your registered email ID within a week from the date of submission of your application.
4. If you don not meet the eligibility criteria, a rejection email will be sent to you within a week from us within a week from the date of submission of your application.
5. If you meet the eligibility criteria, but if your documentation is not complete, depending upon what document is missing, your application will be either rejected or conditionally accepted. In the latter case you will be requested to supply the missing documents within a week. Your registration can be confirmed only after those documents are submitted. If you fail to produce the documentation, application will be rejected.
6. If you complete the application process, within a week you will receive a shortlisted email from our end. Then after you can proceed with the Payment

Course fee payment should be made only after receiving confirmation email from us.

Food and Accommodation:
Food and accommodation will be charged separately during your stay here.
1. By default dormitory accommodation will be given. As per the current fees structure Rs. 2000/- /week for dormitory stay (which is subject to change from time to time).
2. Single / Double / Triple occupancy can be allotted as per availability.

Students need to pay the semester fees and download the fees receipt after making the payment
In case if a student is not able to complete the programme due to unavoidable reasons in the current batch, registration will be carried forward to the subsequent batches on payment of the Semester course Fees. The candidate will be allowed to attend two PCPs together with a special permission from the Deputy Director by providing valid proof and reasons for not attending the PCP.
If students are not able to finish the programme within the maximum time of 4 years, their registrations will be cancelled.
In case you have changed your name and is not matching with the certificates, you are requested to submit copy of an affidavit.

Eligibility for Passing
For a pass in a theory subject, a candidate shall secure minimum of 50% of the maximum marks prescribed for the theory subject in the University examination.
For a pass in a practical/field training/viva-voce examination, a candidate shall secure a minimum of 50% of the maximum marks prescribed for the University examination in the relevant practical/field training/viva-voce.
For a pass in Project Work, a candidate shall secure a minimum of 50% of the maximum marks prescribed.
Promotion and Eligibility for the Examinations
There shall not be any restriction for promotion from odd semester to even semester, provided the candidate has fulfilled the attendance requirement.
Re-registration Instructions and Fees Structure
The re-registration fees is mandatory only if the student cannot able to finish the M.Sc. in Yoga within the maximum time period of 4 years from the date of admission.
NOTE: The student is allowed to get the extension duration of 1 year, only if a student has attended all the subjects of 1st and 2nd semester exams.
The student is allowed for the duration of 1 year as extension period to complete the M.Sc. in Yoga.
NOTE: If the student fails to complete the course within the extended duration, the admission will be rejected. Interested candidates can rejoin as a new student by taking an admission for the new batch and needs to start the course from the 1st semester.
