The Yoga Instructor’s Course (YIC) is a comprehensive training programme designed to introduce the foundational principles and practices of Yoga for individuals seeking personal well-being as well as those aspiring to teach Yoga professionally.

Rooted in the philosophy of “Wellness through Yoga,” the programme blends theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical training to help learners develop a holistic understanding of Yogic practices and their application in daily life.

The course equips participants with the confidence, clarity, and competence required to teach Yoga safely and effectively, while also fostering inner growth, discipline, and social harmony through the Yogic way of life.

Conducted at the end of the programme As per ODL evaluation guidelines

Mode of Learning

Medium of instruction: English

Classes conducted online for 3 months

Personal Contact Programme (PCP) conducted during the last week of the third month at campus

PCP schedules are subject to change and will be communicated by the Admissions Committee.

Value & Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for admission, the candidate must:

  • Have completed 10th Standard (or equivalent) from a recognized board Have secured minimum 50% marks SC/ST and reserved categories: minimum 40% marks (as per government norms)​
Certification & Career Path

* Upon successful completion, candidates become eligible for certification by the Yoga Certification Board under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.

Graduates can:

  • Teach Yoga to the general public
  • Conduct wellness and lifestyle programmes
  • Assist in preventive healthcare initiatives
  • Pursue advanced Yoga programmes under ODL

Note: YIC is a mandatory prerequisite for all higher programmes under ODL.
